Catalog Committee
Responsibilities: The responsibilities of the Catalog Committee are to solicit samples of catalogs, brochures, and other print media advertising from WASSA members; evaluate the submissions; and, at the annual meeting, make one or more awards for outstanding achievements in the use of these media.
Chair: The chair of the Catalog Committee will be selected from its membership and appointed by the President, after consulting with the Executive Committee.
Membership: Members of the Catalog Committee will be appointed by the President. There will be six members serving three-year terms, with the terms of two members expiring each year.
2010 WASSA Catalog AwardsThe Catalog Committee is excited to announce new categories for the WASSA Catalog Awards. Over the past few years we have seen exciting and innovative ideas used in catalogs to get the attention of students and provide them with information on their classes.
The new award categories will be:
- Best Catalog: Cover Design
- Best Catalog: Use of Photographs
- Best Catalog: Layout and Style
- Best Catalog: Use of Theme
And for best overall catalog, we will continue with the
Don’t miss the July 30, 2010 deadline for submitting your catalog for consideration of the WASSA Summer Catalog awards.
If your college or university produces a summer catalog, please send it to the WASSA Catalog Committee to be featured during the Catalog Showcase at the conference in
Laguna Beach,
California, October 3 – 6, 2010. This will give your colleagues the opportunity to see the imaginative ways you are publicizing what is happening on your campus during the summer.
For submission of your catalog, please send the following:
- Six (6) copies of your 2010 summer catalog
- Name, phone number and email address of the person submitting the catalog
- The number of catalogs you printed in 2009 and 2010.*
- Method(s) of distributing your catalog (i.e., mailing to students; mailing to parents; dispensing at events; etc.).*
- Please note if your catalog is available on your Web Site.*
- Any special comments you want to share about your catalog.*
* This information will only be used during the Catalog Showcase, not for evaluative purposes.
Entries postmarked after Friday, July 30, 2010 will not be eligible for award consideration.
