WASSA Member Benefits
The Western Association of Summer Session Administrators (WASSA) offers several venues to promote the exchange of information about summer session programs and administrative practices.
The annual meeting, with its lively discussion of practices, procedures, experiences, innovations, predictions, proposals, plans, and presentations, is the principle forum for exchange. Members consider this conference to be essential for institutional development and professional growth.
The WASSA website contains resources for its members, including a membership directory, listserv, and statistical information.
Members can also ask questions and conduct discussions via the listserv.
The association produces a periodic e-newsletter to inform members of changes in personnel, professional development activities, research findings, and other pertinent news. It also provides information on best practices, keeps members up to date on committee activity, gives conference highlights and updates on future conference planning, and informs members of any business of the association.
Two professional development grants are available to WASSA members—the Internship Grant , which provides support for a WASSA member to visit another member institution, and the Institutional Support Grant, which provides support to a member institution to bring in a WASSA expert for staff development.
The most valuable benefit of WASSA is the collegiality and professional support spawned by the networking opportunities presented at the annual conferences.
